What is an IEP/504?

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a legally binding document under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for students who need special education and related services. It includes measurable annual goals, specialized instruction, and accommodations

A 504 Plan is a plan under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, a civil rights law, for students with a disability who require accommodations to access the general education curriculum but do not need specialized instruction. Its purpose is to ensure equal access to the learning environment

Does my child need an IEP/504?

An IEP/504 can benefit many neurodivergent students, even those who are mildly impacted

It is a legally binding plan which protects your child and ensures they receive the necessary accommodations and resources to succeed

An example is a student with an ADHD diagnosis might receive an accommodation to take tests in a low-sensory environment to reduce distractions and improve focus
