A Dedicated Space for Growth & Connection
At NOVA, we view our clinic environment as a critical component of the therapeutic process
We designed our Kirkland facility to create a space that feels welcoming rather than sterile which helps to reduce anxiety, allowing children to focus on building skills, engaging with peers, and achieving their goals
We offer morning, full-day, and after-school programs in a safe, sensory-friendly setting
Clinical Setting - Facility Features & Tour
Therapy begins the moment your child enters the clinic. Our entryway features individual cubbies for jackets, backpacks, and shoes which allows us to work on critical transition skills immediately upon arrival as children practice independence, sequence their actions (shoes off, coat up), and then move into the group room
This area is designed for gross motor movement and sensory integration. Stocked with a variety of sensory tools and flexible equipment, it allows children to engage in active play that helps them self-regulate and provides opportunities for social interactions with their peers who are sharing the space
Our table space is where we facilitate structured individual and group activities like collaborative games, art projects, and academic work which supports the growth of a variety of foundational skills
We believe that supporting the child means supporting the family. This comfortable seating area is removed from the high-energy play zones, creating a focused environment for parent discussions and training. Here, we can review progress, discuss strategies for home, and collaborate on your child's care plan in a setting that feels personal and collaborative rather than clinical
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. We maintain a curated lending library available to all our families, stocked with current books and guides on ASD, ADHD, and neurodiversity. Whether you are looking for behavioral strategies or simply want to learn more about your child’s unique perspective, you are welcome to borrow these resources at any time
Clinical Programs
Morning & Full-day
Early childhood clinical sessions capitalize on a critical neurological window. Around ages 2 to 3, a child’s brain begins a process called synaptic pruning, where the brain reinforces frequently used neural pathways and eliminates those that are not
By focusing on intensive skill development during this time, we help solidify foundational behaviors and abilities that serve as the building blocks for long-term independence
Afternoon & Evening
Afternoon and evening clinical sessions provide the opportunity for kids and teens to practice social interactions, reinforce and acquire skills, and explore topics and situations which they experienced during the day at school
Acknowledging the social and academic demands put on kids throughout the day, these sessions begin by focusing on transitioning to the clinical environment and self-regulation after a long day. From there we continue the work of developing and reinforcing skills based on your child's individualized programs and goals
